Caption: We lost so many VMI Alum in 2018 that I felt compelled to paint this. I do not usually discuss any symbolisms I put into a work but thought it appropriate to do so here: The Gates parallel heaven's Gates. The footprints the poem 'Footprints in the Sand' The Light at Jackson Arch - the light at end of the tunnel. ... and finally, Limits Gates. The place past which we were not supposed to go ... now is the place we return to at the end/the new beginning. I look forward to seeing all of you waiting for me there when I arrive ... oh, and be sure to bring plenty of beer!
